Since no one is posting these days, I thought I would take the opportunity to write to an audience. Spring is definitely here! The weather has changed quickly from yucky rainy days to super bright and warm days! I love days like today because it feels so free and wonderful! Ms. Bondi likes them too, so we get to read outside and play outside more.
Here is a poem for you:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Tomorrow’s the video
Boo hoo hoo!

Today Was A Day Called Today. Or Just Thursday.
By Tape Abuser | February 25, 2010
Today when we walked in we corrected our Math Homework Page with our Learning Partner. That went pretty quick. Then we studied for the Spelling Test.
After we got to study for a while it was time for THE TEST. (Dramatic Pause and Scary Music.) We got about half way through and then it was time to go to Music.
In Music we song two songs and then went to play Marimbas. The Marimba piece we’re working on is really fun! I absolutely love it! Oh, wait, I’m supposed to be speaking for the class, not myself. Sorry.
When we got back from Music we finished our Spelling tests. The classroom was REALLY quiet. When we were all done we corrected the Timed Tests we did yesterday. That only took a few minutes. Then Sarah’s Dad came in and had an interesting presentation about Haiti. We got to here all about his trip and how he helped the people there.
Then it was time for Recess. Ug. I’m so sick of saying “Then it was time for Recess.” It’s so OLD. I have to write it EVERY time I write a blog post! We already know there was Recess! We have Recess EVERY DAY! Sorry. I’m taking my anger out on you. I apologize.
After…RECESS…we had to do a Math Test on fractions. It was okay though because the test wasn’t THAT long. Only 19 questions I think.
After we finished the Math Test we went straight into Writer’s Workshop. That was some really useful time to some of us. We have two writing pieces due tomorrow by the end of the day! DON’T FORGET!
Then, of course, it was time for…OMG SO EXCITING….lunch. LUNCH. LUNCH. That’s also a word you can get sick of fast. Trust me. If you wrote a blog post almost everyday for a week or two and always say you went to Lunch, you’d be insane too.
After…(I just shivered.)…LUNCH. Was Biztown! Biztown was really cool. We all started working on advertisements. Fun! Fun! (Not Sarcastically.)
Lastly, it was time to go home. Also another annoying phrase.
Have a nice day that’s not filled with phrases you have to say OVER and OVER and OVER again!

Oh Today…..Or Wednesday.
By Tape Abuser | February 24, 2010
Then we went to The Science Fair. Those experiments were really cool! There were a lot of creative ones this year. Wow! We got to do this Scavenger Hunt thing and find different kinds of experiments. That was really cool.
Then when we came back we got a nice long list of math pages to do. They were fun. There was still a lot of them. Six I think. Then when you were done you could work on whatever you needed to work on. (I Think) It was like Study Hall. It was BEYOND useful. We had Study Hall all the way until Recess.
Recess was like Recess. The sun wasn’t out today I think. Just sort of cloudy.
When we got back in we had more Study Hall. I REALLY love Study Hall. You could work on anything you needed to turn in. It was awesome!
But soon it had to end and we went to Lunch. Actually, we got to Lunch really late. But we still got there. Lunch was pretty normal until we had to excuse tables. Before they let us go, we had to guess how many chairs were in the back of the room. That determined what order we would leave in. It was kind of strange.
When we got back it was time for Ms. Barbor’s Brilliance. She came in and talked about Sportsmanship. Wow that’s a long word to type out. She was nice and we all talked about how our school was doing with Sportsmanship and what Sportsmanship ment. Also we got to listen to this amazing story about a girl who pulled a something after hitting a home run and couldn’t run the bases. Two of the players on the opposite team carried her around the bases so she could get that home run. It was really sportsmanship-like.
Then after Ms. Barbor left, we did the rest of our timed tests and raced to the buses. It was a really fun day!
Have a Great Day!

Tuesday!

Back to the classroom and onto our first science state practice test— how lovely. I don’t know about you, but some of the questions I had never heard of. We had to stick with it. Once everyone had finished their science test, it was time for writing. Back to the old, annoying, SLOW, and non cooperating computers. We only have 5 or 6 macs and 2 desk tops and the 5th grade still hasn’t gotten our new dells. POOR US….. Jeez I’m not even close to finishing, and I am such a SLOW typer. How will I ever get it done?
Time for recess. Three words to describe today’s weather–cold, rainy and wet. Hey, I used a root word… awesome! Finally, recess ENDED, I was glad. Dreary weather isn’t that much fun.
We came back into the classroom, started our new book groups, and had our first meeting! For most groups it went by really well, a few were a bit shy and didn’t exactly know what to do. Overall, it went smoothly. After every group discussed, it was time for the class to debrief. We do have things to work on but most people really enjoyed the freedom in this new experiment. I thought it went well.
Time for LUNCH. We were so lucky, we got to lunch 10 min. EARLY!!!!! Yeah!!! Lunch and recess were the same old, same old. Outside again to wet, rainy and cold weather. When we got back into the warm classroom, we divided into our Biztown business groups and learned about setting prices and about making a profit. I am lovin’ it. How bout’ it Fantastic 5th……….what do you think of Biztown? After we wrapped up the meeting it was time to pack up and go home. Today was a pretty good day.

Today…………………………………………………………….Or Just Monday
By Tape Abuser | February 22, 2010
Today we came in and worked on a Self Reflection. It was probably for Confrences. I spelled that wrong. Then when you finished you were supposed to do DEAR.
After that we wen to Music. In Music we started a new Marimbas piece and it sounds good.
After Music we planned out stuff for Lit Circles. Like Rules. (Couldn’t think of a better word.) That was fun.
Then we went out to Recess. Sunny AGAIN. AGAIN. AGAIN.
When we got inside we did Math all the way till’ Lunch. No breaks. At All. We played this Fraction game. It was one of our better Math games. There were less people in the room falling asleep. Just Kidding! We don’t fall asleep during Math games right? (Wink. Wink.)
Then we ate Lunch. Normal old Lunch. Snor……………………………
When we came in from Lunch Recess we went to meet with our companies in Biztown. It was really fun.
Then it was time to go HOME.
Have a great day!
