Third and Fourth Grade “Informances”

Dear Stafford Families,
Third and fourth grade recorder “informances” are just around the corner!  Students have been working diligently on recorder selections such as Hot Cross Buns, Ode to Joy, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and Auld Lang Syne.  Students will also perform a few vocal tunes.  These informal performances will be held in the library.  Please come support our budding musicians!  The schedule is as follows:

5th Grade Musical

Dear 5th Grade Families,

Pirates! The Musical is approaching!  Students have been working extremely hard and I am very excited about our upcoming performances.  The performance schedule is as follows:

Monday, March 2nd at 7:00 PM: Schroeder

Tuesday, March 3rd at 7:00 PM: Schecter

Wednesday, March 4th at 7:00 PM: Menoher

Thursday, March 5th at 7:00 PM: Bondi

Students are invited to come and perform with any of the other classes if they would like.  I have ordered props and and some costume accessories for students to use.  Please have students dress nicely for the performances (no jeans or t-shirts).  If you would like to go above and beyond and work on a pirate costume, that would be great but it is certainly not required.

The 2014-2015 school year is off to a fantastic start!  Our younger students have been learning a lot of fun new songs, 3rd and 4th grade have been working very hard on their recorders, and our 5th graders have been learning to play the ukulele.  The week before Thanksgiving Break, 3rd and 4th grade students will present their “informances” in the music room.  These informal performances will be a combination of recorder playing and singing.  Here is the schedule for 3rd and 4th grade informances:

Stafford Winter Concert

This is just a reminder that our Winter Concert will be this Thursday, December 5th at 7:00 PM.  In addition to our regular rehearsals, there will be an after school rehearsal for both percussion ensemble and senior choir on December 5th until 3:45.  Please let me know if your child is not able to attend this rehearsal.  Students will be receiving their senior choir and percussion ensemble shirts this week.  Dress for the concert will be the new shirts with dark pants or nice jeans.  On the day of the concert, please have your student to school by 6:30 PM.  We will meet in the music room prior to the concert.  Selections will include The Stafford School Song, Tiger Blues, Ode to Joy, Fireflies, I Wanna Go to Hawaii, Africa, and Home...
