Students are responsible for high quality homework each week. This includes doing the assigned work with a positive attitude that shows a growth mindset.  The practice of daily homework builds important work and study habits and the academic stamina that helps you achieve more in your life at home and at school. We are building the skills of achievementhard work, perseverance, resiliency and grit.

Homework comes home on Mondays and is returned on Fridays. You can click on the link below to see the weekly homework assignments. I have added extra reading logs and spelling practice sheets to this page if students need them.

    Dear Mrs. Amri,
My favorite part of the rock museum was the place where the rocks glowed from the lights. I know that gold is soft and heavy.

    Dear Mrs. Amri,
I love doing math and art. What do you like to do in school?

    • admin says:

      Dear Lucia,
Thanks for your comment. I love all the subjects we do in class. I just wish we had more time for everything there is to do at school together. Don’t you, too? How much time do you spend on homework? Where do you do your homework? It is interesting to read the other comments and see how your classmates do their homework. Thanks for joining the conversation.

    Dear Mrs. Amri,

Homework helps you learn. When you hand out the homework and I check it at home I start looking at them and start having them get in my head and it helps me remember them.

      Dear Lyric,
Thanks for leaving me a comment about homework. I always notice that you start right away because you do so well on your spelling tests on Fridays. Your long-term memory is a great way to work on spelling, and your habit of reading every day really helps you because you see so many words when you read. Keep up the great work.

      Hi Lyric,
Thanks for the comment. Every Friday when we come together as a second-grade community is truly special. I agree with you about that! Listening to each other share gratitude for our friendships gives so much meaning to our lives and creates so much happiness. Thanks for bringing that up.
