Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Dear First Grade Parents,

We had a wonderful time at French Prairie Gardens on Friday.  We were so fortunate that the weather was so nice.  I am so proud of the kids for the excellent behavior and great manners on our trip.  It was fun to pick our pumpkins, see the pigs and ducks race, go on the hay ride, see the animals, and slide on the incredible slides.  Thanks to all of our chaperones for going with us.  We appreciate you all!

Homework Is Coming Home Today

Dear First Grade Parents,

Two small packets are coming home today in your child’s Red Traveling Folder.  Please read the information over carefully.  Homework should be an extension of what we do in class.  Reading is our BIG priority!!  This month the focus is on creating good habits, becoming responsible for our work, and having a great “can-do” attitude. Please take note of the number of calendar activities that need to be done each month. Bonus activities are optional.  I have included paper for some of the math and writing activities this month.  Feel free to use the back of papers to do math problems, etc. Please remember you can adapt homework activities to fit your child’s needs.  If any activity becomes frustrating please stop and do something else (take a break).  Enjoy your time with your first grader!
